I am not sure if I am an astrophysicist or not, but I do know that it is possible to explain the phenomenon of the dark color of the sun by the fact that it is a point in the sky that is not directly illuminated by the sun (in the same way it is not directly illuminated by any light source).

That’s called a black body. I know that sounds like I’m from the future, but black bodies are actually real. They are the result of a process called radiative heating that takes place in the atmosphere. The atmosphere then emits light via radiation, which is why the sun is so bright and so dark.
